This is a screenshot of the story, with one of the spas in Atlanta, Georgia.

On Tuesday, 6 Asian women were murdered within their place of employment or business. Six Asian women from three different Asian run spas in the US state of Georgia. Some authorities are saying that they don't have enough evidence to prove whether it was an Asian hate crime yet or not. Two white people were also shot and killed within this shooting spree at Asian run spas. 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long travelled to three different locations where he only went into Asian run spas. He could have went into any shop in the areas, but he didn't. It was clearly targeted. Open your eyes, and face the truth. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56424616

Why do authorities constantly refer hate crimes, and murders committed by white people as "having a bad day", and blame it on their mental health. They would most likely be handled with care, and treated like a living being. Whereas if it was a person of colour, they would most likely be shot or handled aggressively. They also tend to assume that the person could be related to gangs, or a terrorist. However, it is more rare for a white authority to refer to a white terrorist as a terrorist.

I remember back when ISIS was a thing, and I was getting a real eye opener about who terrorists were. I really should have known before then, but my parents didn't like me watching the news when I was young because it was too "sad and violent". So, when I finally learned about terrorists, I was very confused on the meaning. As, I would watch the news in my teen years and see many white men in the media which mass-murdered people at events, schools, malls, etc. However, I also remember there being no label like terrorist. The sad thing is, at a young sheltered age, I didn't think that white people could be terrorists. Which is completely awful, and I wish that I was way more informed in my childhood, but that's just the way that cookie crumbled.

I talk about my transformation from within, (from moving out of my parents house, and moving to Toronto for school) a lot. I like to talk about it because these are two separate worlds of which I have lived in, and I really like the person I have become. I am very thankful for my awakening. Moving to Toronto, which is way more diverse, it was amazing learning different cultures, and stories. Also the fact that I was walking on my own (as I have mentioned in a prior post) for the first time, I started to watch, listen and read the news worldwide. Without having moved to Toronto, and having my eyes opened by research and new friends, I would be so different today.

Donald Trump makes me want to cry. I am very happy that he has left the building. I believe he was the initial influencer of the racism towards China when the virus touched down in the US. Saying that it was the "Chinese virus", and other highly racist remarks. Which lead to white supremacists everywhere being bum-wads.

As a white person, who grew up around a lot of white people within a small-town with a white majority, I have often heard things like, "It doesn't concern me because I am not racist, and I am not apart of their race." Which is basically saying that you are not a racist but you would not help stop racism. This is where white people go wrong. It is not enough to just not be a racist. With the privilege we white people have, with hardly ever being racially targeted, we must fight for people who are. For, if you do not suffer from inequality based on race, then you must take some of the suffering off of others shoulders. We are meant to co-exist as one. If we need to be at the front-lines of a protest, then we should be there. If we see police officers on the street treating someone of a different race or ethnicity poorly, then we must say something.

Nobody is perfect, we all are raised differently, but I know that we are able to re-teach ourselves. There are many things that we can't learn in a classroom, so get to educating yourselves people! Watch movies, documentaries, read books, articles/ websites regarding what is happening in different racial groups, different cultures and histories. As much as it is nice to have a diverse friend group that is open and excited to share their stories, cultural differences and history, we also need to take it upon ourselves to educate ourselves.

The more people that expand their knowledge on this recurring discrimination, I believe less racist remarks will be made, less targeted hate crimes will happen, and less lives will be lost. As hard as it is, we must try to constantly inform our family members and people we know about whats going on, especially if you know racist people.

I know how hard it can be to convince a stubborn person to think differently than they have their whole lives. I typically prefer to stay quiet, and fill pages with all the noise in my head. However, I have learned that as hard as it can be for me to speak up, we must. If we don't make noise, how will we be heard? Whenever I see the opportunity to act and inform people of what they really don't want to know, but must, I do. I destroy my own peace in hopes of restoring it elsewhere.

It doesn't matter who you were yesterday, you can be better today, and even better tomorrow. We need to work together to stop this racism and hate! Every living being was created equal, there is no triangle that makes different races and genders better than another.

^This is one of my favourite diagrams which depicts how we are typically taught ^

to think (left). Then what is the most amazing way to think (right). This isn't exactly made to show race or other gender identities, it just makes you see my point of how we are all meant to flow equally. Humans, aliens, animals and plants.

I have pasted a link to an Instagram video of a poem about Asian hate below. It was made by Sherry Cola an Asian stand-up comedian and actress:

LET'S DO WHAT WE CAN TO END THESE RACIALLY TARGETED HATE CRIMES!
